The Hubert Robert Room

In order to decorate the room in 1773, Count Alexander Stroganov commissioned the French artist Hubert Robert to create a painterly ensemble of six canvases, which depicted ancient obelisks, temples and arches as well as waterfalls and mountains. The present interior decoration is referred to 1810 and it was created by the architect Ivan Kolodin.
